Bai Zi Ren
- effective in treating insomnia secondary to blood deficiency in the heart and improve memory
- effective in treating insomnia secondary to yin deficiency in the liver
- also be used to prevent night sweats secondary to anxiety and heart palpitation
- effective in treating insomnia secondary to disruptions in Qi such as irregular flow, decrease or increase of Qi
- due to its mild diuretic properties, it is often used in conjunction with Yuan Zhi for treatment of abscesses and prevention of edema
- effective in treating insomnia or palpitation secondary to build up of phlegm and emotions such as anger and anxiety
- also has mild diuretic properties, thus making it suitable for the prevention of edema, breast tenderness and treatment of abscesses
- use with caution in patients with duodenal ulcers and gastritis due to its potential to stimulate the gastrointestinal tract
- effective in treating insomnia secondary to deficiency in blood supply primary to the heart
